About
Music, sport events has the power to bring people together, to escape the unfortunate realities and challenges found in their respective communities, and households the Gert Schalkwyk Foundation is focusing on the sport in general and hoping to pave the way to successful sporting careers and saving our youth from the evils surrounding our brothers and sisters in the townships and suburbs.
We encourage our young people to be educated and pursue their sporting careers at the same time and with businesses being part of the movement, every event will expose them to more career paths and interests in life. With enough support from Gert Schalkwyk Foundation and yourself we can reach out to the individuals taking part in the events and motivate them through sponsorships that allow higher education and degree, the sporting arena is huge and have so many moving parts aside from playing, assistance is crucial in our townships and suburbs.   
The foundation was launched with a successful Easter weekend soccer tournament from 15th to 18th April 2022 and we had a lot of support from local businesses, community, outside companies, government and PSL Kaizer Chiefs football club supporting the movement. We hope to encourage more companies and individuals to join us.
Goal
Our primary goal at the Gert Schalkwyk Foundation is to bring back the culture of young people competing in sports and giving their best performances on and off the field. We aim to shift the focus of their day-to-day habits towards training and striving to be the best, rather than being consumed by the negative factors that surround them.
We understand that young people face many challenges in today's world, and we want to provide them with a positive outlet to channel their energy and talents. By promoting the value of hard work, discipline, and dedication through sports, we aim to help young people build confidence and develop critical life skills.
As we pursue our goal of reviving the sports culture among young people, we also strive to become the best in the industry. Our commitment to professionalism is at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that by operating with the highest standards of integrity and excellence, we can inspire trust and confidence in our athletes, sponsors, and partners.
In pursuing our goal, we are committed to fostering an environment that promotes growth, learning, and development. We believe that by providing our athletes with access to top-notch training, coaching, and resources, we can help them achieve their full potential and become successful athletes and leaders in their communities.

At the Gert Schalkwyk Foundation, we believe that every young athlete deserves the opportunity to fulfill their potential both on and off the field. Our vision is to provide the necessary exposure, guidance, and support to help young athletes succeed in their chosen sport and academic pursuits.

Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to identify talented young athletes from diverse backgrounds and provide them with the resources they need to excel. We understand that success in sports is often closely linked to academic performance, and we strive to guide our athletes in achieving academic excellence as well.

Our vision is to create a community of athletes who are not only passionate about their sport but also committed to personal growth and development. We believe that by fostering a culture of hard work, dedication, and resilience, we can help our athletes become not only successful athletes but also successful individuals.

We envision a future where every young athlete has access to the resources and support they need to achieve their goals.

Development Program

The Gert Schalkwyk Foundation is revitalizing sports culture by offering academic and social sports programs for South African youth. Our target audience is unemployed youth and schools in need of professional coaching.

We offer soccer now and hockey later, with training during the week and matches on weekends. Join our seasonal leagues and tournaments for friendly competition and skill-building opportunities

Gert Schalkwyk (born 9 April 1982 in Klerksdorp, North West is a South African footballer who played as a midfielder in the Premier Soccer League and now chairman of the “Gert Schalkwyk Foundation”
Schalkwyk played during 2003 and 2011 for Wits United, Kaizer Chiefs, Bloemfontein Celtic Orlando Pirates, Maritzburg United and numerous games for the South African national football team.

Retired in Alabama and running the foundation with all his experience gained in the PSL, National Bafana Bafana team and Coaching skills, giving back to the community for the love and support showed in his career.
